This policy explains what data we process when you visit bigtalkclub.com, send a message through the contact form, sign up for the Talking Point newsletter or buy a material in the shop.

1. Who controls your data

The controller for personal data collected through this site is [to be completed: seller's registered name], registered at [to be completed: registered address]. 2. What we collect and why

What we collect depends on how you use the site.

Contact form

We collect your name, email address, subject and message so we can reply. The basis is the consent you tick when you send the form, plus our legitimate interest in handling enquiries. We also briefly process your IP address, to limit how many messages can come from one address and to keep the form safe from abuse.

The Talking Point newsletter

We collect your email address, plus confirmation of your consent when you sign up. The basis is that consent, which you can withdraw at any time, every email includes an unsubscribe link.

Shop orders

We collect your name or business name, email address, whatever billing details the purchase needs and, if you request one, invoice details. The basis is entering into and carrying out the sale, and, for billing, obligations the law places on the seller. We never see or store your card details, Stripe handles payment entirely on its own.

Your platform account

We collect your email address and login details, linked to your purchase history so we know which materials you can access. The basis is carrying out the contract with you.

3. Who we share data with

We don't sell your data to anyone. We do share some of it with providers who help us run the site and the shop: email, meaning contact form messages and the Talking Point newsletter, goes out through Resend, payments in the shop are handled by Stripe on its own terms and under its own privacy policy, bigtalkclub.com and the platform.bigtalkclub.com platform run on Vercel, and the editorial content, the blog and the informational pages, is produced on lh.pl hosting. Each of these providers only processes what its service needs, under a contract with us.

4. How long we keep data

We keep contact form messages for as long as it takes to deal with your enquiry. The IP address logged when you send the form is deleted automatically after a short time, once the sending limit resets. We keep newsletter sign up data until you unsubscribe. We keep order data for as long as accounting rules and product liability rules require.

5. Cookies

The site currently uses two cookies, both strictly technical and neither needing your consent, one remembers your chosen theme, light or dark, the other remembers your chosen language. Neither is used for tracking or advertising. Traffic measurement isn't switched on yet. Once it is, the site will ask for consent first, in line with applicable law, and this policy will be updated to describe the new cookies before measurement goes live. The cookie consent window already live on the site has a separate analytics category switched off by default, so once traffic measurement goes live, it will only run for people who tick that consent.

6. Your rights

Where data protection law applies to you, you have the right to access your data, have it corrected, deleted, or its processing restricted, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. You can also withdraw consent at any time, without affecting anything done before the withdrawal, and complain to the data protection authority in your own country.
